For more than 60 years, we have been passionate about helping communities
create happy, healthy and engaging learning spaces and environments.
Since producing our first chair in 1951, Sebel has grown to be one of the largest and most diverse furniture manufacturers in the Southern Hemisphere. The continued success of Sebel is no accident; it is built upon an unwavering commitment to three core pillars – form, function and quality. We believe it is our genuine manufacturing culture and our passion for innovation in these critical areas that sets the Sebel name apart from all others.
For more than 60 years, we have been researching, designing and manufacturing furniture that is purpose built for education, healthcare and stadia. Designed with the latest ergonomics, our furniture is comfortable, adaptable and flexible.
Functional and built to last, our products are tried and tested to survive the toughest environments.
Global Design. Local Manufacturing.
Founded by Harry Sebel in 1951, the Sebel story began with the production of Mobo toys and a new furniture range based around the innovative Stak-a-Bye chair.
In the late 1960s the decision was made to drop the toy side of the business and concentrate solely on the furniture range.
Over its 60-year history, Sebel has maintained a genuine manufacturing culture, introducing many innovations. From being the first to replace wooden chairs at schools with Polypropylene, to classic ergonomic designs which many decades later are still as popular as ever.
Focused on making purpose built furniture with the latest ergonomics, our furniture is functional and built to last. When you buy Sebel, you are investing in your customers, students and staff, ensuring they will benefit through features that have been designed and refined over many decades.
