4 SEPTEMBER 2017 | The iconic Australian manufacturer, Sebel Furniture emerges from voluntary administration with a committed new owner who believes in its turnaround strategy. Acquired by Resero Group, the Sebel business and its iconic brand will continue to operate as an independent business, maintaining focus on locally manufacturing world class furniture and delivering value to our customers in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and around the globe.
Resero Group Limited now owns three leading design, manufacturing and distribution businesses providing product and consulting services to the education, healthcare, hospitality and public sectors in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and other International markets. The group’s role is to provide governance, structure and support to each company, with a focus on providing the management teams in each business with active strategic and financial guidance to help shape and support the future growth strategy of the separate companies.
During the administration process, the Resero team saw promise in the cultural fit and strategic direction presented by the Sebel management team, endorsing its operating model and future plans. With additional group support from Resero, Sebel will continue under the current leadership of Trevor Vyner (CEO), Igor Tischenko (CFO) and Pat Varanasi (GM Operations), enabling the business to move forward confidently, at pace.
Resero are determined to remain true to the Sebel brand and build on its rich legacy for quality products and design, continuing to deliver local manufacturing via its existing business model. Local manufacturing and the ability to be responsive to our customers’ needs will remain a cornerstone of our strategy. In addition, Sebel will remain the exclusive authorised distributor for the leading global furniture supplier, KI, offering customers award-winning, international design options.
Sebel was only able to navigate this challenging administration process with the support of its customers, staff and suppliers. Now on the other side of this process, the company has emerged stronger and more capable than ever and with the financial and strategic backing of Resero, the Sebel team are excited by what is now possible.
