Opening Sebel’s doors to the future of design.
Sebel gets a visit from the Design and Technology students of Norwest Christian College
Harry Sebel was passionate about making great products. In 1951, he founded Sebel and worked hard to create iconic products that people would love and a brand that they could trust. Over the decades, Sebel has become one of Australia’s most recognised furniture manufacturers in Australia and across the globe.
At Sebel, we believe that when bringing products into the world, they should be timeless pieces that will perform for you over several generations. That’s why you won’t find thin moulding or inferior materials here. We proudly engineer our products to the highest standard so that you get high performing furniture that can be loved not just by you but perhaps your grandchildren too.
Today we got the opportunity to share our passion for great furniture design and manufacturing with the Design and Technology students from Norwest Christian College. Opening our doors to our Sebel factory and head office, the students spent time with our R&D Manager, Plant Manager and Marketing team to learn about product innovation and design that will help them with their HSC studies. Their excursion included a tour of our world-class plastic manufacturing facility as well as our very own NATA certified testing laboratory. They even got to meet some of our resident robots!
We are known for some of the most iconic product designs around such as the Postura. Designed here, made here and loved here by generations of Australians, we’ve sold millions of Postura chairs all over the world since its creation. At 20 years young, the Postura still remains unrivalled as the best school chair in market. As part of their tour, the students got to see the process of how these chairs are proudly made here in Australia.
Thank you, Norwest Christian College, for coming out to Sebel and seeing our products and facilities. It was a pleasure showing you the behind the scenes of Sebel and taking you through what it takes to make great products!
