Furnishing the newly built St Mark's Coptic Orthodox College

In Wattle Grove, NSW, St Mark's embarked on a major rebuild project, teaming up with Sebel for a full furniture fit out

With a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve, they teamed up with Sebel to fit out the spaces to reflect the school’s character throughout.

The project saw Sebel team members work closely with the Principal and key staff members to design and fit out 17 classrooms, 11 offices, targeted teaching areas, a staffroom, a school hall and a library.

Saint Mark’s wanted to create a unique identity and opted for furniture in the school’s colours - tones of blue, reds and oranges. Stages 1 and 2 featured brighter versions of this colour palette, creating an engaging environment. Aqua and Jaffa were used in these stages, whilst, in stage 3 Navy and Redgum chairs combined to create a more mature palette.

The school even took advantage of Sebel’s popular hot stamping facility and had the school crest applied to the Navy chairs in the school hall and library.

This project saw the team carefully selecting furniture that gives students the ultimate in flexibility

In stages 1 and 2 the furniture featured height adjustable legs with lockable castors allowing for the teachers to move the tables easily into different group sizes as required.

Flexible, mobile storage options were specified to cater for all students along with storage for teachers’ resources. Create-A-Pods and Create-A-Mats were chosen to support floor activities. A breakout area allowing for targeted teaching or quiet meetings which was shared between the rooms.

In stage 3 high benches were combined with stools that featured backrests for extra comfort. Mobile storage was again used to ensure ample storage was available for student and teachers.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Saint Mark's on this project, delivering high quality fit-for purpose furniture that we know the students and staff will enjoy for years to come.
