Creating a future focused learning community was the brief Sebel were given when working with Mango Hill State College on their new school build.
New spaces created with flexibility in mind to accommodate the needs of both staff and students.
Mango Hill State Secondary College is a new secondary school located in the fast-growing area of Mango Hill in the Moreton Bay region. Our brief for this brand new school was to create rich learning environments and inviting spaces which both students and staff would loved to use and engage with.
We worked closely with the Principal and Business Manager to create flexible and comfortable classroom designs and the new spaces easily accommodated the needs of all staff and students.
A Resource Centre was designed using modular Ottomans and Library shelving, really opening the space up to collaborative activities without losing on functionality, and a staff area was designed to include both group and individual workstations.
Colour combinations were kept consistent throughout the spaces to create an inviting feel and align with Mango Hill's colour themes.
The bright, engaging colours bring energy and vibrance to a large area, and the combination of patterned fabric finishes and various seating options, give a comfortable and inviting feel to these much-used spaces.
Big Softies were used along with integrated bookcases for the resource centre
The classrooms used Jaffa Postura Max ® Chairs to align with their School Colours
Postura® Plus stools were used with high tables and Big Softies to give the staffroom tiered seating
The space was designed to allow for different break out areas
Both individual and group seating were an integral part of the brief for the staffroom
Tiered seating is a great option for meetings with the staff or even training sessions
We thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and we're delighted the school is so pleased with the outcomes
