A guide to hot stamping

A guide to hot stamping

It is all in the details at Sebel, which is why we have perfected the art of finishes. One of our most popular product finishing options is Hot Stamping.

The perfect way to put your mark on your learning or working space.

Printed locally in Australia, ‘Hot Stamping’ is a method in which coloured foils are transferred directly onto the plastic surface of the chair or stool. It’s a highly durable method of printing school, business or community names and logos directly onto the surface of our chairs and stools, to give them an elevated and bespoke feel.

Here's how the process works:

  1. The process consists of a dye being mounted in a hot stamping machine
  2. The dye is then heated with the chair placed beneath it
  3. A coloured foil is inserted between the dye and chair
  4. Then the dye is pressed down through the foil
  5. And the coloured foil is impressed onto the backrest of the chair or stool.
