Testing & Certifications

Testing & Certifications

Each testing standard and certification we hold is a mark of assurance - confirming that our products, processes, and people meet trusted national and international standards.

Setting the benchmark for quality furniture

Every Sebel product is designed, engineered and manufactured to meet strict performance standards. From materials selection to structural design and lifecycle testing, we build furniture that can withstand everyday use in the most demanding environments.

Proven durability through certified testing

Our in-house testing facility is independently accredited by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities), giving us the capability to rigorously test our products against recognised national and international standards. This includes strength, stability, durability and safety assessments on components, assemblies and full products.

Because we control the entire process - design, manufacture and testing - we can validate performance, refine designs, and ensure every product meets specification before it reaches a classroom, office or stadium.

Certifications

Industry Standards We Meet

We’re proud to hold a range of quality, safety and environmental certifications at our Minto manufacturing site. Here’s what each of them means for you:

  • NATA – World Recognised Accreditation
NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) accreditation means our product testing is independently verified and meets global standards. It gives you confidence that our furniture is tested for strength, durability and safety.

  • Toitū carbonzeroCert certified
This means our Minto site is certified as carbon neutral. We measure and actively reduce our greenhouse gas emissions - and offset what we can’t eliminate. It's our way of helping fight climate change and supporting a more sustainable future.

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management System
This international standard proves we have strong quality control processes in place. From design to delivery, we’re focused on consistency, continual improvement, and meeting customer needs.

  • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System
We follow global best practices to reduce our environmental impact. This certification shows we’re serious about responsible manufacturing, recycling, and minimising waste.

  • ISO 45001 – Health and Safety Management System
Your safety matters to us - and so does the wellbeing of our team. This certification recognises the systems we have in place to create a safe, healthy working environment.

  • Australian Made
Many of our products carry the official Australian Made logo - a mark of true local manufacturing. It means they’re proudly made right here in Australia, supporting local jobs and guaranteed to meet Australian standards. Visit the Australian Made website for list of certified Sebel products.

What we test for

What we test for

Our testing programmes are designed to evaluate how products will perform over time in high-use environments. This includes:

  • Long-term durability under repetitive use

  • Load capacity and structural strength

  • Stability and safety under typical conditions

  • Material performance, fit and finish

  • Compliance with relevant industry standards

Products are tested to EN, AS/NZS or specific performance criteria shaped by decades of industry experience.

Designed to last, not just look good

Designed to last, not just look good

We choose materials and engineering solutions that balance aesthetics, comfort and long-term performance.

Better design upfront means fewer replacements, lower environmental impact, and furniture that continues to feel good, function well and look smart - long after installation.
