Supporting designers and engineers of the future

For close to a decade, Sebel has supported the Science Teachers Association of New South Wales (STANSW) Young Scientist Awards Program.

For close to a decade, Sebel has supported the Science Teachers Association of New South Wales (STANSW) Young Scientist Awards Program celebrating the scientific investigations, technological innovations, and mathematical inquiries of K-12 school students across NSW. Since 1992, the Program has been encouraging students to undertake innovative projects and investigations to find creative solutions to real-world problems.

The Sebel Testing & Evaluation Awards are presented to three K-12 students’ whose projects incorporate the most extensive testing or evaluation routine in their investigation or innovation. Sebel can appreciate the extent of testing that goes into the students’ projects and understand the importance of rigorous testing. We are the only Australasian furniture manufacturer to have an in-house National Association of Testing Authority (NATA), so seeing the designers and engineers of the future share the same passions makes us excited to see what they will do for future generations.

Members of Sebel’s design and engineering team review project submissions with a real-world lens, awarding the prize for Young Scientist of the Year award. This year, the deserved winners were:

“This program is truly inspiring and it’s incredible to hear about all the great projects that the students have been working on”, said Shane Fellowes, Sebel Product Manager. Shane went on to say “We are very proud to support a program that helps talented young Australians contribute innovative ideas for a smarter and more successful Australia.”
