Introducing colour into learning environments
Golden Beach Primary School is located in Coloundra, Queensland. The school started off small in 1983 and has since grown to over 600 students. With the continuous growth of the school, Business Manager, Tracey, saw the opportunity to refresh the Preparatory classroom.
Tracey said, “the back-to-school flyer came at the perfect time”. She was able to get inspiration and create a new, fresh space for the students at a great price. Typically smaller schools come smaller budgets, making it challenging to create inspiring spaces for students. However, working closely with Tina Leko, Sebel Business Development Manager, they were able to mockup the space in our Floor Planner application and design an engaging space that fit within the schools' budget.
Being able to see the space in real furniture, real colours and to scale was invaluable in the design process. Tina was able to provide Tracey with a combination of different colour options which allowed her to make the final decision on the design.
The parents, staff and students all love the new space. Teacher, Jo, says “I love that everything is on castors and the children are able to move around the furniture. They can create different areas in the room using the Smart Softies™.”
