Refreshing learning spaces and encorporating the schools custom print fabric.
Woodridge State High School, a public High School in Brisbane, QLD, has been educating thousands of students since 1972. The school fosters an environment where students are empowered to make their own choices, enhancing their learning journey.
To align with the school’s values and pedagogy, Andrew Byrne, the Business Manager, collaborated with Tina Leko, Sebel’s Business Development Manager, to revitalise the school’s spaces. Based on previous projects, Tina has a deep understanding of the school's needs. The goal was to refresh four General Learning Areas and a large Flexible Meeting Space to better support the desired learning approach.
In designing these spaces, incorporating the school’s custom print fabric was crucial. Tina coordinated the upholstery of Smart Softies™ and Round Ottomans with this fabric, pairing it with Sebel’s Marina vinyl and Navy chairs to create a cohesive look. The tables were finished with writeable tops to facilitate student collaboration.
Reflecting the school’s commitment to student empowerment, the rooms feature flexible layouts, allowing students to choose their preferred learning spots. Teachers can move freely around the room, engaging with students by using a Mobile Teaching Station.
Since the project’s completion, both students and teachers have maintained the furniture in excellent condition. They appreciate the new additions, particularly the writeable top tables, which have enhanced their learning experience.
A combination of storage options, soft furnishings, and maneuverable tables on wheels, creates a flexible learning environment.
